Watchpan is a recipe app. It keeps what you need to keep your recipes, and nothing to show you ads or follow you around. This page says exactly what that is.

What we keep

• Your account: your name, username, and email address (or the private relay address Sign in with Apple gives us), your languages and your unit choice. A password, if you set one, is stored only as a salted hash.
• Your recipes: what you save, your notes, collections and shopping list, and the photos and videos you add.
• Friends: who you are friends with, who you blocked, and reports you send.
• Counts of use: how many scans, recordings, imports and translations you used today, to keep the free allowance fair.
• A record of imports: for each import, scan, recording or translation, whether it worked, how long it took, the link you imported, and the error if it failed. We keep this for 30 days to find and fix what goes wrong.

Photos, recordings and links

When you scan a page, record yourself or import a link, the photo, the sound or the page is read by an AI model to write the recipe down. The sound of a recording is not kept after it has been transcribed; a video you choose to attach is kept with the recipe. Photos and videos from drafts you never save are deleted within a day.

Translations are made only into the languages you picked, when you save a recipe or ask for one.

Who handles it

Watchpan runs on Cloudflare, which stores the data and runs the AI models (Cloudflare Workers AI). Your data is not used to train AI models. If you sign in with Apple, Apple confirms who you are. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking services in the app or on this website, and the website sets no cookies.

Who sees your recipes

Recipes you mark as private are seen only by you. Recipes shared with friends are seen by the people you accepted as friends. People you block see none of them. Your notes are always private.

Deleting everything

In the app, go to You, then Delete my account. Your account, recipes, photos, videos, collections and shopping list are deleted straight away, and disappear from backups within 30 days.

Your rights

You can see, correct, export or delete your data, and object to how it is used. Write to hello@watchpan.com and we answer within a month. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Watchpan is not meant for children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app tells you before it takes effect.
